A cross-promotional campaign has been announced for the Gundam and Hello Kitty franchises celebrating their 40th and 45th anniversaries respectively. “Gundam vs Hello Kitty” will be a multi stage project collaborating with various companies.
The campaign will be implemented through the popular communication app “LINE”. After registering as a friend with the Gundam/Kitty LINE official account, you can select Gundam or Kitty to support the selected character. In addition, if you accumulate project points in LINE by visiting participating locations or purchasing target items, the top winners for the rankings will be awarded prizes, and a campaign for winning prizes will be held at each stage.
The first stage of the campaign will be collaborating with the udon restaurant chain Marugame Seimen releasing 90 limited “Udon bill” designs(45 for each brand) and many original dishes. Original T-shirts will also be presented to a total of 600 people via lottery. Visitors will be awarded one project point by scanning each of posters’ QR codes displayed in Marugame Seimen restaurants.
The next stage of the Gundam vs Hello Kitty project will be a collaboration with Japanese retailer Ito-Yokado beginning May 1st. During Golden Week, you can visit Ito-Yokado stores across Japan to purchase products related to Gundam vs Hello Kitty campaign. “Gundam course” or “Hello Kitty course” tickets will be given with the purchase 1000 yen or more items to be used in a lottery for Gold cards, QUO cards, mugs, and clear files. Scanning the QR codes on the shop posters also award visitors one project point.
