English cast, staff, companies, fans and cosplayers alike converge in Los Angeles for the U.S. premiere of the much anticipated Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative film.
On Tuesday February 19th, the first entry to Sunrise’s UC NexT 0100 Project, Mobile Suit Gundam NT(Narrative) will open to 459 theaters across the United States for one night provided by Fathom Events. The premiere for the film was held February 12th at the Los Angeles, California Regal Cinemas L.A. LIVE theater, coordinated by SC Media. The premiere was met with very positive reception from the audience. The English dubbing for the film was recorded by NYAV Post, the same studio that dubbed Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, and several other Gundam works.
The premiere was attended by the main four English cast members, Griffin Puatu as Jona Basta, Erika Ishii as Michelle Luio, Brianna Knickerbocker as Rita Bernal, and Stefan Martello as Zoltan Akkanen, along with producer Naohiro Ogata. The five had a Q & A session after the screening.
Toy/hobby company Bluefin Distribution attended the premiere and with drink company Ito En, sponsored the souvenir bags received during the reception.
Popular cosplayers and media personalities TheDoc213, Wonky Wheel, Stella Chuu, and Jenna Luca also attended the premiere.
The next entry in Sunrise’s UC NexT 0100 Project is Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway’s Flash, a film trilogy adapting the 1989 novel series of the same name written by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. Hathaway’s Flash is set to release Winter 2019.
